Royal couple expected with protests, William and Kate cancel visit to Belize

William and Kate have cancelled a planned visit to the start of their Caribbean tour after locals protested against a royal trip to their village in Belize.

The Duke and Princess of Cambridge were due to visit a cocoa farm during the first full day of their tour on Sunday, but the visit was taken off the agenda on Friday and cancelled.

According to reports, a protest was organised on Friday rejecting the royal visit to the Akte 'il Ha cocoa farm in the Indian Creek village in the lowland of the Mayan Mountains.

The case undermines the start of the couple's eight-day visit to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas in honour of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and raises questions about travel planning.
