Milan's sporting director, Igli Tare, has spoken about the club's plans in the transfer market ahead of their Coppa Italia debut against Bari at San Siro.
In an interview with Sportmediaset, Tare focused particularly on the role of attack, confirming several big names that are on the Rossoneri's radar.
"Hoylund is a good option for us. We are evaluating him these days, but the transfer market is unpredictable," he said of the Manchester United striker. "We know we need to step up in that position and the player who comes in has to bring something extra to this group."
Tare also acknowledged interest in Dusan Vlahovic: "This is also an option, a striker should come."
Another open option remains that of Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson. Blues manager Enzo Maresca has admitted that the player could leave, while according to Tare, contacts with the Senegalese striker's agent have already been made.
Unlike the attack, the midfield has been significantly revamped. “The priority of our project was to work on the midfield, because Milan needs to dominate matches and win them,” said Tare. “With the arrival of Jashari, Modric and Ric, the level has increased.”
For Luka Modric, the Real Madrid legend, the Rossoneri's sporting director did not hide his emotions: "Modric was a Milan fan since he was a child. Two kids who supported Milan met. I immediately understood his way of thinking. His arrival is an added value for this team."
