Vedat Muriqi has had the best season of his career, but it wasn't enough to secure Mallorca's survival in La Liga. The Kosovar striker scored 23 goals, over 51 percent of the team's total goals, becoming the player with the greatest attacking weight among the five major European leagues.

With this statistic, Muriqi joined a very rare list of footballers who score over 20 goals but fail to save the team from relegation. Before him, only Quini, Morena and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink had experienced this fate with Atletico Madrid in the 1999-2000 season.

Despite exceptional form and high efficiency in front of goal, Mallorca failed to convert their goals into enough points for survival.

Another disappointment for the Kosovo captain, as he previously missed out on qualifying for the World Cup with the Kosovo national team.

However, his season remains among the best for a Kosovar footballer in the elite of European football and the future may hold a move to a much more well-known team.
