The Madrid prosecutor's office has requested 4 years and 9 months in prison for Carlo Ancelotti, as he is accused of tax evasion.
Ancelotti has not declared 1 million Euros of income from image rights in the 2014 and 2015 balance sheets.
Carlo Ancelotti, who at that time had his residence in Madrid in his first adventure as coach of Real, announced taxes only for income from the salary of Los Blancos.
The money was hidden, according to prosecutors, by delegating the image rights to a company called Vapia Limited where it initially signed a 10-year contract for 25 million euros, which was later changed to 3 years for about 1 million euros.
Ancelotti himself has not yet commented on the investigations of the Spanish prosecution, as the greatest possibility is that the coach will reach an agreement with the tax authorities, in order to pay a large fine and be able to continue the activity regularly.
Carlo Ancelotti renewed his contract with Real Madrid a few months ago, extending the cooperation until the summer of 2026.
There have been similar accusations in Spain for other well-known names, including Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo, who were chosen by agreement and have all paid the fines in the Spanish state.
In previous cases of tax evasion in Spain, where well-known sports figures such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Jose Mourinho were involved, imprisonment was avoided, converting it into a fine.
