If things remain as they are at this moment, Armando Broja cannot be the strong 'weapon' of Albania in the European Championship in Germany that everyone thought. No one doubts his quality and chances are he will be on Silvinho's official list, but the question is how much will the Brazilian really be worth at the summer's big event?
The long-term injury has taken its toll on the striker and he needs to play regularly in order to be in optimal form. This was also the reason why he was loaned from Chelsea to Fulham in the winter market. But, apparently, Broja has gone from rain to hail.
The 22-year-old footballer played more at Chelsea than at Fulham. There are only 3 games, where Broja has entered the field as a substitute at Fulham, and they play a total of 37 minutes. Very little if you see that with Chelsea, Broja has been activated 6 times as a starter and 7 times as a substitute this season and counts 453 minutes and 1 goal scored. In Saturday's game against Brighton, he was activated only 6 minutes from the end.
At least so far, the transfer to Fulham does not seem to have been successful and the red and black striker is in a very delicate situation. He hoped to have more space, so that the European in June would find him fully ready, meanwhile the opposite is happening. Of course, the Fulham club has its own interest first, the team is doing well with the starters it had during the season and the Albanian player is still 'foreign meat'.
Perhaps Broja can be helped by the March friendlies with Chile and Sweden to provide some spark. He has shown that he is a striker who solves the matches individually and at the moment he needs help, which the red and black jersey can give him.
It is difficult for Silvinjo to reckon with Broja of this moment. The Albanian striker of the moment is Rei Manaj, who, like Broja, was absent in the qualifiers. They may both be on the European list, but if it will be only one, it is not surprising that the country will meet Manaj.
