One of the teams that made history in the Albanian football super league, Shkumbini i Peqini, is "swimming" in not so good waters, as it is recently in the second (third) category. Once upon a time, the teams playing in Peq had a hard time winning, influenced by a charismatic president, the fans or even the conditions of the field itself. Later, when Shkumbini was fighting for survival in the Super League, deputies and exponents of the majority declared that they would "twin" it with Serie A teams in Italy.

Even with quality teams. One of them was the Lazio team, which at that time was fighting to win the championship. But, not only that! It was promised that Shkumbini would have its own television. Like Milan Channel or Inter Channel, where the programming would be only for the first team, training or everything else. The construction of a modern stadium was even promised. Time passed and everything was forgotten.


The team, not only did not have "twinning" with Lazio, a TV like Milan or Inter, but fell from the Superior Category. Then it was also dropped from the First Category, to end up in the Second Category. Meanwhile, a few kilometers west of Peqin, the team of Egnatia of Rrogozhina is leading the Superliga and is the main candidate to win the championship.

What happened to Shkumbin?!

A few days ago, the mayor of Peqin, Bukurosh Maçi, issued the announcement for the auctioning of the shares of the football team of Shkumbin. The date of the auction is March 18, 2024. The letters were made with a standard open procedure.

"The object of sale is by auction of the shares of the Football Club 'Shkumbini' sh.a" it is stated in this document. In the same announcement, it is detailed that the Municipality of Peqin has auctioned 80% of the shares of this club.

"The football club 'Shkumbini' sh.a is a company organized in the form of a joint stock company created in 2011, where the shares are 100% owned by the Peqin Municipality. In a more extensive manner, the object of sale is described in Appendix 10," this document states.

According to the same document, the initial value with which the public auction starts is 4,000,000 ALL. "The place of the auction is in the building of the Peqin Municipality, second floor, office of the vice-mayor of the Peqin Municipality. The deadline for submitting requests for participation is on March 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., this document states./ Boldnews.al
