The next UEFA congress taking place at the Palais des Congrès in Paris has produced quite a bit of noise, mainly in relation to the change in the statutes which concerned a possible re-candidacy of the current president Alexander Ceferin.
"UEFA is celebrating 70 years, 70 years of history, tradition, passion, unity, courage and creativity. At this moment some people are trying to trample them. They are trying to change this European model of football, despite its success. They present themselves as the saviors of football when in reality they are trying to dig his grave, they pretend to be victims when in reality they are nothing more than predators ," Ceferin declares.
From the UEFA congress in Paris, president Aleksander Ceferin returns to attack the Super League.
Meanwhile, UEFA itself formalized the change of statute regarding the elections, but Ceferin, surprisingly, announced that he will not run for a third term in 2027: " I am tired, away from my family for a long time. I have decided not to run again in 2027".
