Numerous physical problems may force Etrit Berisha to hang up his boots prematurely.
The former Albanian national team goalkeeper has revealed in an interview with Swedish media his long ordeal of back pain.
Currently part of Haken in the Swedish championship, the 37-year-old has his future unclear and the possibility of him leaving, or even deciding to finally retire from playing football, is not ruled out.
"Last year I didn't listen to my body and took medication every day because there were so many matches. Artificial grass is a big problem for my back. I'm going to Norway to get checked out. I might leave. At the moment I don't know anything about what will happen ," Berisha said.
Etrit Berisha wore the Albanian national team jersey for 81 matches, from 2012 to 2024, where he was one of the leaders of the red and black team and a participant in the two European Championships in 2016 and 2024.
