The footballer from Shkodra, Andreas Ndoj, has joined the Greek national team for the next two friendly matches.
Although Greece were left out of Euro 2024, Ndoj appears to have managed to join his southern neighbours, as he was named among the other 27 players for friendlies against Germany and Malta.
Ndoj asked FIFA to leave the red and black 17-year-olds to join Greece. Then he left the Greek 19-year-olds, to play with Albania's Hopes. The frequent movements caused FIFA to block his transfer to the Greeks for almost 1 and a half years.
Ndoj is originally from Shkodra and was born in Athens. He is a defender with the Greek Olympiacos team and earlier it was reported that he had expressed his desire to play with the Albanian national team.
However, according to media reports, it was his father who preferred that his son play for Greece, and as he said, "join the army in Greece".
