Three Albanian teams, Partizan, Balkani and Struga, are still in the race for the UEFA Conference League trophy after victories in the penultimate round of direct elimination matches.
With another convincing performance at the Elbasan Arena, Partizan managed to beat the Valmeira team, qualifying with a 3-1 aggregate score.
Struga, meanwhile, lost in the match against Swift Hesperange at the latter's home, 2-1, but thanks to the result of the first match at home, which Struga won 3-1, it managed to qualify.
Ilir Daja's Balkan, meanwhile, continues with very positive performances in the cup, where it defeated the Lincoln Red Imps FC team with a score of 1-3 and qualified for the playoff stage with a total score of 1-5.
The next challenges are not impossible, with Balkan having the strongest match against Bate Borisov. The latter were eliminated from the Europa League yesterday evening and thus move to the Conference League playoffs.
The easiest match is that of Partizan against Astana, but still a match not to be underestimated.
While, of the three Albanian teams, Struga and Shpëtim Duros had the greatest luck in the draw, since the playoff puts them in front of the Icelanders of Breidablik, on paper an easier team with great chances of qualification.
The first meetings for the three Albanian clubs will take place on Thursday, August 24, while the second meetings will take place on August 31, where the teams participating in the Conference League will be officially introduced.
