Bernardo Silva introduces himself to Real Madrid: Playing for a club like this is not for everyone

Bernardo Silva was officially presented as a Real Madrid player, more than a month after the club announced his signing.

The 32-year-old appeared alongside president Florentino Pérez at the presentation, which was also attended by members of his family.

The Portuguese midfielder has signed a contract with Real Madrid until 2028. Bernardo has spent several weeks working with his new teammates, but Wednesday gave him his first opportunity to talk about joining his new club.

"Ever since I was little, when you don't know if you're going to be a player, your dream is to play for Real Madrid. I'm very happy to be here. When you're in this room, you understand how big Real Madrid is. Now it's time to work hard to win titles," Silva said.

The former Manchester City midfielder is very familiar with the Santiago Bernabeu having played against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Bernardo has faced Madrid on several occasions during his time in England:

"I've played here a few times, and seeing 15 Champions League trophies is always impressive, but seeing them here as a player is even more special. Playing for a club like this is not for everyone ," Silva said.

Resilience has also been one of Bernardo's strengths. He missed just 11 games due to injury during his nine seasons in England.

For Mourinho, he is expected to be one of the main players in midfield for the new season.
