Just as it was warned earlier, today the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party has officially submitted to the Assembly the document for the initiation of the procedure for the dismissal of Speaker Lindita Nikolla.
According to the law, the letter is addressed to the Council of Legislation in the Assembly. There were 28 deputies who signed the letter for the dismissal of Nikola, whose names have not been disclosed.
In last Thursday's session, disturbances were caused in the Assembly, because the opposition's request to discuss the "McGonigal" scandal was not accepted. After the created chaos, the speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, closed the session without discussion, only voting on the draft laws, which were approved only with the votes of the majority.
After this action on the part of the Speaker of the Parliament, some DP MPs declared that they will request the initiation of procedures for her dismissal, with the argument that the latter denied the opposition to discuss the issues on the agenda.
