Today at 10:00 AM, the Assembly will vote in the plenary session on the 2 reports of the majority and the opposition on the SPAK request for authorization to arrest Socialist MP Belinda Balluku, sealing the fate of this request that has been pending in the Assembly since December 16 of last year. The SP and the DP are divided in their positions.

The Socialists insist that now without an executive function, dismissed as Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, and from the number 2 position in the government, Belinda Balluku cannot tamper with evidence or flee, cannot repeat the criminal offense, and the path for SPAK to investigate her for inequality in tenders is open, without the need for imprisonment. To reject this request, the Socialist Party will need 71 votes.

While the Democrats who submitted their report first insist that lifting MP Balluku's immunity to give the green light to the arrest is a necessity, as despite being stripped of her ministerial positions, she risks intimidating witnesses and destroying evidence.

The SP report will be read by Ulsi Manja, while the DP report will be read by Oerd Bylykbashi after Gazment Bardhi was suspended for 10 days from the Assembly's proceedings.

It is not known whether Balluku herself will exercise her right to speak in the Assembly, or whether she will be present at the session on Thursday morning.

The Democrats will surround the Parliament in a protest that will start simultaneously with the plenary session and will end with its conclusion, without any isolation scenarios, as sources from the blue headquarters tell Report TV. The police, which has also taken over the development of the rally, have taken all measures to guarantee security and have surrounded the Parliament with railings.

Before the plenary session, at 09:00, the SP will hold a group meeting to decide on the fate of Balluk.

Among other things, discussions on Parliamentary Committees are expected. According to sources, one of the main items on the agenda will be the appointment of former Foreign Minister Elisa Spiropali to the Security Committee, as well as former Defense Minister Pirro Vengu to the Committee on Natural Resources, Infrastructure and Sustainable Development.
