Prime Minister Edi Rama said he expected that within the year, Albania and Greece would confirm, through a new Strategic Partnership document, the cooperation between our two countries in many key areas.

Rama made the comments while speaking today on his podcast 'Flasim' about his visit to Greece, where he participated in the Delphi Economic Forum, and was received in a meeting by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Rama expressed confidence that together with Mitsotakis they will manage to properly address the issues raised between the two countries, while adding that Greece continues to remain a strong supporter of Albania's journey towards the EU.

"The stop in Athens was of a different nature, but related to Albania's position and the desire to see Albania represented at the highest level and to hear our positions and opinions, especially in this case, in an economic forum with international reputation and prestige, where due to its neighborhood and history, Albania had a special place on that platform, where the main directions of global development, but also of regional development, and also of the relationship with the neighboring country, are discussed.

I went to participate in the forum, but I had the pleasure of being received by the Prime Minister of Greece Mitsotakis, a valuable friend of Albania, with whom we took stock of the progress of the work of the joint group we have established, to provide answers once and for all to all the issues raised and to take the interstate relationship between Albania and Greece to a new level.

"I am very pleased to say that on the part of Mitsotakis there is an absolute willingness to address all outstanding issues and to confirm within this year, through a new Strategic Partnership document, the very special nature of the relationship between the two countries and on the other hand to always support Albania on its path towards the EU. I am confident that we will manage to address the outstanding issues and will further strengthen our relationship through special care, both for the Greek minority in Albania and for the Albanians in Greece," Rama said, among other things.
