The Democratic Party's Anti-Corruption Spokesperson, Genta Vangjeli, has issued a statement to the media, accusing the government of massive misuse of public funds through classified contracts of the National Agency for the Protection of the Interior.

According to her, the lack of money for the needy, pensioners, farmers and the health sector is directly related to clientelism and abuses in procurement, demanding that SPAK deepen the investigations to Prime Minister Edi Rama, as the main person responsible for these affairs that, according to the DP, have cost millions of euros in Albanian taxes.

Statement by the Anti-Corruption Spokesperson in the Democratic Party, Genta Vangjeli:

If today there is a lack of money for economic assistance, for medicines, for farmers, or for pensions, the reason is simple: state money ends up in the hands of the government.

The Democratic Party has filed dozens of complaints directly related to the AKSHI, where clientelism and systematic abuse of procurement have been clearly evidenced.

For the public and to the attention of SPAK, today we bring the high number of classified contracts that AKSHI has concluded with a duration of over 24 or 36 months. These contracts have started after Mirlinda Karçanaj took office as head of AKSHI.

Classified contracts, according to the law, are excluded from public procurement only when they have a special impact on matters of defense and national security.

While the classified contracts of the National Agency for Security and Defense (NASHI) have as their object security services, storage and, in the vast majority of them, expenses for the maintenance of office equipment.

According to official Spending data, from 2016 to date, for 10 years, Albanians have paid a total of 104 million euros for such contracts.

Without any public announcement, without transparency, without publishing data or draft contracts and through closed contracts without competition, it turns out that the highest payments for contracts classified by the NAKSHI went to:

ABS shpk, owned by Gerond Meçe (currently in the name of his mother), which has benefited from 17 million euros, mainly for maintenance expenses of office equipment.

FIRST shpk, with private owners and citizen Gëzim Hoxha, has benefited from 18.5 million euros, of which 3.5 million from the National Agency for Electronic Certification and Cybersecurity and 15 million euros in a single payment from the National Authority for Electronic Certification and Cybersecurity.

Infosoft Systems, owned by Armand Sharra and Bledar Dhima - 12.6 million euros.

TBS 96 shpk, owned by Artan Xhori - 11.8 million euros.

AES Communication shpk, owned by Jani Angjeli - 6.7 million euros.

Soft Solution shpk, owned by Ermal Beqiri - 5 million euros.

IKUBINFO, with owners Romeo Sherko and Armand Sharra - 3.8 million euros.

Alisa Albania, owned by the Dulaku brothers - 2.1 million euros.

Image Communication Development, owned by Igli Gjelishti - 2 million euros.

Intech +, former owner Ilir Beqaj, currently Sokol Sinani - 1.6 million euros.

Fastech shpk, owned by Andis Papa - 1.2 million euros.

Trezhnjeva shpk, owned by Adem Trezhnjeva - 1.2 million euros.

The Democratic Party asks SPAK to finalize the investigations into AKSHI, taking into account the contracts categorized as 'classified', and for the investigation to go to Edi Rama, as the superior of AKSHI and the main person responsible for planning and organizing these scandals that have led to the misuse of millions of Albanian euros.

Albanians demand justice and it cannot exist as long as Edi Rama does not surrender to justice.
