The Democratic Party held its first protest of 2026 in front of the Prime Minister's Office building this afternoon.
"Congratulations to the opposition and Albanians for a good year. A year of freedom and the return of fundamental human values, robbed, driven out in the most savage way by the man who has become a symbol of the Venezuelan dictator, who is called Ramaduro on all continents," said the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at the beginning of his speech.
Berisha initially focused on the 35th anniversary of the founding of the first opposition newspaper, "Rilindja Demokratike".
"A celebration of pluralism, thought and free speech. A celebration of life, which without free speech is a deserted life, without dignity," said Berisha.
According to the leading democrat, the year 2026 is very similar in history to periods of the fall of communist dictatorships, while he praised the American operation in Venezuela, describing it as "the best in history."
"This act brought great cold, horror and terror to Surrel. Edi Rama froze, turned off his podcast yesterday, because he opened a word of mouth. I'll tell you why this is Ramaduro, just like Maduro, his mandates are based on crime. Directly connected to the most powerful cartels in Europe", Berisha said of Rama.
The DP leader threatened Prime Minister Rama that "Delta forces (the main special missions unit of the US army) in Albania" are the ones who take to the streets to protest.
"Here are the Deltas, Rama, wait in Surrel as soon as they receive the order ," Berisha concluded.
This was the seventh consecutive speech by the Democrats against the government, while Berisha has not ruled out other forms of political action, including parallel initiatives or extreme acts of isolation.
