Speaker of the Assembly, Elisa Spiropali at the inauguration of the skanderbeg statue in Arberesh's Hora, Italy

The Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, has attended today the inauguration of the statue of national hero Gjergj Skanderbeg, in The Arvanite Hora, the largest settlement of the Albanians in Sicily.

What is striking is the special outfit spiropali has chosen for this event, a traditional dress of Arbëresh women.

"The busts and the name of skanderbeg give grace to squares and streets in Tirana, Pristina, Rome, Geneva, Zurich, Paris, London, Brussels, Budapest, Skopje and even Michigan and Chicago, in the United States.

Now Gjergji comes in bronze as patron saint and memorial monument in your city as well as to remind us all, that unites us a "sling and blood", that each of us today, and our children tomorrow, will each be a stone on the immortal pedestal of our Kastrioti" said Spiropali.

Activities in the Arbëresh's Hora are numerous these days, as the president of the Albanian Parliament has visited local museums, churches, libraries, state institutions, as well as has talked and appointed Albanian with the patriotic and welcoming Arbëresh of Sicily.
