Prime Minister Edi Rama has delivered his speech today at the GlobSEC Forum 2024, which is being held in Prague, Czech Republic.

Rama started the speech by stressing the importance of the Western Balkans for the stability of the whole of Europe. He "thanked" Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying that "unfortunately" with his criminal actions he told the EU about the importance of our region.

"I want to congratulate Putin, and it's unfortunate that we needed Vladimir in the most criminal way for Europe to understand that the Western Balkans need.

As for the EU, I can say that there were many people who did not believe in it at all, repeatedly saying it as a motto that the Western Balkans should be in the European Union, just as the Communists used to tell us while Paradise is on the horizon. But the war in Ukraine completely shook the status quo. Von der Leyen played an essential role in this, to reshape the message that was being repeated," Rama said among other things.
