Journalist Mustafa Nano has given up on the diplomatic life. 6 months after officially taking up his post as ambassador to Switzerland, there is talk that he has resigned from the post.

Albanian journalist in Geneva, Nefail Maliqi, writes on social media that Nano has submitted his resignation.

"Switzerland remains without an Albanian ambassador. Mustafa Nano was a communicative ambassador and close to journalists and the Albanian community. The latest news from Bern is that the Albanian ambassador to Switzerland, Musafa Nano, has resigned. Ambassador Nano himself confirmed this news to the Swiss newspaper LeCanton27.ch," he writes.

"LeCanton27" writes that Nano has decided to leave. He said that the resignation came for personal reasons.

"Mustafa Nano, thanking the Albanian community in Switzerland and journalists for their cooperation, said: 'My resignation is something of a personal nature.' Switzerland remains without an Albanian ambassador and it is still not known who will replace Nano," the media in question wrote.

There has been no official confirmation from the government. Nano's appointment to this post caused a lot of commotion, as he broke away from the media world.

Nano was among many personalities that the government proposed in the spring for appointments to several diplomatic posts. "I would like it to be a special moment in my life. I hope the work will be interesting. There is a large circle of Albanians in Switzerland. I will keep a special focus on my duty. I have decided to be more active than other ambassadors in the world. I would like to be more active. I would like the role of the ambassador to be greater. I will foster relations between Albania and Switzerland," he said at the time.

But it seems he has decided not to pursue a diplomatic career.
