Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to accusations that by increasing pensions and the minimum wage on the eve of the May 14 elections, he violated the law.
In a post on Twitter, Rama posted the law and according to him the law prohibits it only for central elections and not local ones. He further charges that political illiteracy is worse than real or functional illiteracy.
"Political illiteracy is far worse than real or functional illiteracy! The article prohibiting salary increases 4 months before the elections is related to the political elections, where it talks about the period before the creation of the new government. The reading is done aloud by pensioners on May 14." - writes Rama.
