Rama: The elderly will receive 5,000 ALL more in next month's pension

Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that next month, the elderly will receive 5 thousand ALL more in their pensions.

After the government meeting, he spoke about the salary plan, saying that there will be increases for some categories, while they aim for the average salary to reach 900 euros.

"Now we have in my hands a very ambitious but at the same time reasonable plan for a salary increase which aims to enable Albania to shine in the span of these 2 years, i.e. 2023, 2024 at the high level of the region. Aims to achieve a target of an average salary of 900 euros. This means that we are in the conditions of a new opportunity, an opportunity that we will use to the maximum for the benefit of people, families, and after the increase of the minimum wage we can go towards the increase of the average wage. We will have growth for a scalable part soon. We will discuss the details after the act of approval that comes within the next 10, 15 days. We have said and we will stick to the promise to increase the salary of doctors and nurses by 7% this year, while specialist doctors were raised by 50,000 ALL.

For other categories, we will have an immediate increase this year.

Second, we are in the conditions where we can also tell the pensioners that we will keep the promise to distribute to them the extraordinary tax that we put on the big energy exporters, as I said before, but today we only have the general promise , but also concrete information that for the pensioners, there will be 5,000 lek in their direction along with the pensions they will receive next time", said Rama.
