The leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, Sali Berisha, has sent a message of congratulations to Albanians for the New Year 2025.
Berisha said that the magical night of the new year is awaited and celebrated with great hope for prosperity in 2025.
The former Prime Minister, in a video message, said that the new year begins with a big change, which is the inauguration of Donald Trump as president of the United States.
"A year full of hope is expected everywhere in the world, as well as in Albania. The wave of these changes cannot exclude Albania and Albanians," said Berisha.
He stated that the last 12 years have been challenging for Albanians, so he called on them to sign, according to him, the rotation of power.
Sali Berisha: Dear Albanian citizens, a few hours separate us from the new year 2025, so from the bottom of my heart, I wish you, wherever you celebrate tonight, in your family homes, with friends, in clubs, restaurants, on trips, in hospitals and penal institutions, a Happy New Year 2025.
This magical night is awaited and celebrated with great hope for prosperity and good things in 2025.
In fact, the year 2025 begins with a big change. In Washington, after 3 weeks, the new government of Donald Trump, who emerged from the presidential elections, is inaugurated. The return to power of President Trump marked the blocking of the triumph of the extreme left in the USA, blocking a real aggression of human identity, gender, and why not the family.
The year 2025 is also expected to be a year of peace where the raging conflicts will be extinguished. So a year full of hope is expected everywhere in the world, as well as in Albania. The wave of these changes cannot exclude Albania and Albanians.
Albania can no longer remain the country of massive exodus of citizens, the most poorly paid in Europe. Albania can no longer be the country where schoolchildren are killed at the highest rate. Poverty knocks on every door.
Albania 2025 cannot be the Albania of violence and terror against the opposition, of the imprisonment of its leaders and its MPs, it cannot be the Albania of isolation and censorship, of the banning of social media.
But it will be an Albania of free citizens, of respected freedoms. The Albania of the 12 years that I leave behind suffered greatly, Albanians as a whole, Albanian youth, because their dreams became impossible to realize in their country.
The citizens of this country suffered, sinking deeper and deeper into poverty, the pensioners who suffered misery, the farmers who saw their economies go bankrupt in hundreds and thousands of cases, the mothers, sisters, and Albanian women suffered.
These 12 years have been truly difficult for the vast majority of Albanians, in one way or another, hopes may have faded, but you should never forget that we are Albanians and the greatest lesson of our existence is that for us, nothing is impossible.
So let's unite in 2025, to create a broad front to jointly sign the rotation, the change, to return to the path of democracy and the country's integration into the EU.
