"I sued Rama in SPAK", Jamarbër Malltezi: Berisha thought about
Fiori Dardha and Jamarbër Malltezi

After 20 months under house arrest, Jamarbër Malltezi appeared for the first time in a television interview. In a story for Fiori Dardë on “Breaking” on Top News, he spoke about his personal experience during this period and the strong impact that this security measure had on his family, especially children who study abroad.

Malltezi stated that he was imprisoned for his land and that "he is the third generation of the family to be imprisoned for the same property," accusing the government and the judiciary of a politically motivated process.

"I was imprisoned for my land, my grandmother's brother Ibrahim Begeja was imprisoned, my grandmother's sister was exiled. My mother gave birth to me and died and didn't even know she had property," he said.

In an interview given to Top News, Jamarbër Malltezi directly accused SPAK of violating his rights and exerting political influence in the process against him. He stated that his assets were seized immediately and without legal basis, as he said: “Within a day, they seized 70% of my assets. This doesn’t even happen to criminals.”

Malltezi also announced that he has filed a criminal complaint against Prime Minister Rama, accusing him of abuse of office in the process of transforming several sports areas into construction zones. He stressed that he will request that Rama be called as a witness in court, but the court, according to him, has refused due to political pressures.

"Judges are afraid to accept Rama as a witness. He has signed over 11 cases of changes from sports areas to residential areas, but no one is investigating these," declared Malltezi.

Regarding the arrest, Malltezi stated that he was illegally abducted by four civilians, who did not identify themselves as police officers and were traveling in a car without license plates. He said that during a phone call with his wife, he was forcibly detained without presenting any official documents.

“Someone forcibly pulled my phone away, and the people around me were scared when they saw me being pulled away without any explanation,” Malltezi said. He added that he was taken to the police headquarters where he was then asked to sign papers without being informed of the reasons for the detention.

Malltezi accuses the courts of failing to respect his fundamental rights during his house arrest. He states that his detention included an unlawful ban on communication, including with his lawyer, which he claims is a flagrant violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.

"The denial of access to a lawyer is an illegality that has been removed from the law for 8 years. This decision has been appealed in Strasbourg and has been given priority consideration," he said.

Jamarbër Malltezi reveals that after the May 11 elections, Sali Berisha had considered the possibility of withdrawing from the leadership of the Democratic Party. "Berisha has resigned in the past. This time too, if it were an emotional moment, he could withdraw," Malltezi said.

But according to him, the fact that after the elections, serious documents emerged that proved "the state's involvement in electoral crime" and "the manipulation of the diaspora vote" changed everything.
