Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted harshly to the phenomenon of occupying public spaces and issuing permits with violations, announcing a new legal reform for territorial control.
In a post on "X", Rama says that "tolerance towards land occupied at the expense of the community or permits with violations at the expense of the city, which have been accepted by local government as fellow travelers of urban life, while territorial protection inspectorates and municipal police have become in most cases part of the problem, will end."
Further, the number one of the cabinet, emphasizes that work has begun in parallel with several new reforms of the drinking water service, the cleaning system, waste processing, the supply of oil and medicines to the people, as well as the hospital service. The latter, according to Rama, will be the entry points on the path of our fourth mandate, for Albania 2030 in the European Union.
We recall that at the beginning of this month, Rama warned businesses to return the spaces that have been occupied, thus hindering the lives of citizens. Otherwise, they will face fines, immediate demolition, administrative and criminal trials for "environmental crime and damage to public property."
On the other hand, restructuring has begun at the local level.
A few days ago, Rama dismissed 21 directors of the Vlora municipality, holding them responsible for mismanaging the territory and tolerating unauthorized construction.
Along the same lines, he has also requested verification of the management structures in Fier and Durrës.
Today, July 9, the head of government called on young people to apply for 600 internships in public administration and state institutions.
