Prime Minister Edi Rama was very critical after the meeting of the Socialist Party parliamentary group.
In a long speech he gave, he said that besides the Albanian Public Television, another major failure of the government is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to him, it seems like only 3 people work in this department: the minister, the secretary, and the guard.
"Regarding the law on public diplomacy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is like the Albanian Public Television. It is another major failure of ours. I have said it and I am saying it again. It is not an institution in function of these challenges because it has never been reformed. Even a law that we made was not a law or a reform, it was a toilet. Makeup! The law must pave the way for reform, to introduce fresh air. Albania today has many people abroad in the diaspora. The diaspora is part of an important electorate. The ranks have been taken hostage by the foreign policy anchors of the television, it is not even television that they do not even come out. Every time I go to that ministry, it seems to me that there is only the minister, the secretary and the guard there ," said Rama, adding that it is very important to maintain contacts with the diaspora.
"We come to the diaspora. It is very important that in terms of diplomacy, as far as the parliament is concerned, the friendship groups are also engaged, as will the Speaker of the Assembly, and all those who go abroad are involved in contact with Albanians. We will maintain contact with the diaspora, we need constant contact ," he said.
The Prime Minister concluded his long speech with the words:
"Thank you for your patience. My two trusts are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Albanian Public Television!"
