Defense Minister Pirro Vengu rejects claims that "Prime Minister Edi Rama has asked for his resignation."
Asked by journalists about a statement by Sali Berisha, Vengu categorically denied such a claim, describing the claim as " political delirium ."
"I take them more as threats from Mr. Berisha. He is not afraid of exercising his position as opposition leader to exert pressure of various kinds, especially on a department like this one of national security, such as the Ministry of Defense. These things are not true at all. Delusions of this nature do not concern me," said Minister Vengu in a communication with journalists.
Question : Mr. Berisha has publicly stated that Mr. Rama has asked you to resign, is that true? And if so, why?
Pirro Vengu : I am not shocked by delusions of this nature, I am used to such stories, which I take more as threats to Mr. Berisha who is not afraid of exercising the position of opposition leader to exert threats, pressure from various sources, especially for a department like this one of national security, such as the Ministry of Defense. These things are not true at all. Delusions of this nature do not concern me.
