Prime Minister Edi Rama, at a meeting in Memaliaj, stated that it is now time for Albanians to decide on a European Albania.
Rama underlined that May 11 is the time for all Albanians inside and outside Albania to receive their European passport.
"It is a choice, between Albania in Europe, or with the short-eared owl back in the hole. I know very well that in this area there is no need for much speeches because you sleep and eat with politics, in this area there is no need for anyone who comes to ask for support to even open their mouth, because you follow the political life of this country every day. You have always had this. But I want to tell you, turn your head back, close your eyes and see where Tepelena, Memaliaj, Gjirokastra district was when we took office thanks to your support.
We are all equal here and all one, there are no heroes or others. I am not your hero, I am the horse you have chosen to pull the cart. To serve you and to make history together and to conclude a long ordeal that begins far away, from the time when Gjergj Kastrioti determined where we should look, from Europe and not from Asia.
"May 11th has come to us, fate has willed that fate come to us Albanians and the opportunity to make history together. Let's conclude a long ordeal. It is time for all Albanians inside and outside to receive Albania's European passport. That passport puts an end to our separation when we go abroad in a special corridor, when they ask us where we are going and when we are leaving. It puts an end to the separation of your children when they go to study abroad as foreigners from those who are European and makes our children European children too ," said Rama.
