The Head of the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi , during his speech in the Assembly, spoke about the opinion of the Venice Commission regarding the compatibility of the mandate of the socialist MP, Olta Xhaçka.

Bardhi said that the majority pledged that as soon as the Venice opinion arrived, they would implement it, but according to him, they did the opposite.

He said they invented an opinion that does not exist by telling Albanians that the Assembly is independent and does not obey the Constitutional Court.

"You are the only majority that in 34 years has thrown two seats of the Constitutional Court in the trash. What example do you give to citizens who have a judicial conflict and resolve it with a court decision? You tell them if you like a court decision, implement it, if you don't like it, declare the Republic of Xhaçka and do not implement the court decision. This is the example you are transmitting.  To your shame, you publicly pledged that as soon as the opinion of the Venice Commission arrives, you would implement it. But what did you do, you invented an opinion that does not exist. You told Albanians that the Assembly is independent and does not obey the Constitutional Court. They issued false news without any documents and without any basis and then distributed it as fake news in all media," said Bardhi.

Among other things, he requested that the case of Olta Xhaçka be put on the agenda and sent to the Constitutional Court, in order to decide whether or not she is in conditions of incompatibility.

"The Venice Commission has told you what we have told you in this hall, what the Constitutional Court has said, that you cannot raise your independence or your freedom of vote when it comes to the decisions of the Constitutional Court. It cannot be considered as imposing a way of voting, but rather fulfilling a responsibility.  Therefore, put it on the agenda immediately. Hand Olta Xhaçka over to justice, to decide whether or not the Constitutional Court is in the conditions of incompatibility. Any behavior contrary to her is an undermining of the rule of law ," said Bardhi.
