Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has published an official statement from the Democratic Party declaring the Revolutionary Guard of the dictatorial regime of Tehran a terrorist organization, even though the opposition did not participate in the Assembly vote.
In the official statement, the DP says it condemns Tehran's attacks on the Persian Gulf countries, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and other friendly countries of Albania. In response, Berisha does not comment on the absence of the opposition in the resolution that the Parliament approved today with 79 votes in favor.
"The Democratic Party of Albania declares the Revolutionary Guard of the dictatorial regime of Tehran a terrorist organization. It considers the obscurantist state of the Ayatollahs as the main sponsor of terrorism in the world and a major threat to peace and stability in the Middle East and everywhere in the globe."
The Democratic Party of Albania condemns in the strongest possible terms Tehran's attacks on the countries of the Persian Gulf, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and other friendly countries of Albania and expresses its full solidarity with these countries.
"The Democratic Party supports the efforts of the US and Israel to overthrow the cruel theocratic dictatorship of the Ayatollahs and replace this regime with a popularly elected government as a major contribution to the liberation of the Iranian people, as well as to guaranteeing peace and stability in the region and beyond," the statement said.
The opposition's Secretary General Flamur Noka also reacted, saying that "this assembly has not had a plenary session with the agenda of approving the minutes for 35 years."
