The head of the Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, has presented the draft resolution proposed by the Socialists regarding Iran.

In his speech from the Parliament podium, Balla stated that the fight against terrorism is the fight for global security and the rule of law.

Balla: Today the Assembly is invited to adopt a resolution related to the most important issues of global order and security, the fight against terrorism and the responsibility of the states that support it. Terrorism is not only an act of violence but also an undermining of the democratic order. It strikes civilians, institutions and the principles on which the order is built. The fight against terrorism is a battle to preserve international peace and stability. Albania remains a clear and unwavering state in this war, choosing the side of the rule of law. The serious attack of 2022 on the institutions of the Republic of Albania was one of the aggressive episodes against a sovereign state. It attempted to damage the functioning of the institutions. Many attempts have been prevented and discovered in time. A few days ago, the Albanian Assembly was again the target of a new cyber attack. These are genuine hostile acts. The resolution that we are invited to discuss aims to address this reality. We aim to clearly condemn any form of support for aggression. Let's declare Iran's Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization.
