In a ceremony held in Korça, the new building of the Greek Consulate General was inaugurated, a building of historical and symbolic importance, where the renowned poet and Nobel Prize winner, George Seferis, once served.

Present at the event was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, George Gerapetritis, who conveyed strong messages of friendship, respect and coexistence between the two peoples.

"The policies of changing borders belong to the past. Today we are united by a common history, common values and especially the Greek minority, which is a bridge of cooperation and understanding. As Seferis would write, old stories do not interest man ," said Gerapetritis.

On the other hand, the Albanian Foreign Minister, Igli Hasani, described the construction of the consulate as an act that embodies the new relations between the two countries, based on centuries-old respect and friendship.

"Let us be the generation that builds a true and lasting partnership between Albania and Greece. Greece has been and remains an important partner for Albania. As Seferis said: "Bridges are not built with bitter memories, but with words and memory ," said Hasani.

Both ministers emphasized the role of the Greek minority in Albania and the Albanian community in Greece as natural bridges connecting the two nations on their common journey to Europe.

In this context, the new Consulate building in Korça was not seen simply as a diplomatic investment, but as a concrete symbol of interstate cooperation and understanding.
