The Complaints and Sanctions Commission decided to reject the DP's request to declare the elections in the districts of Tirana, Fier, Durrës and Elbasan invalid.

The way is now open for the official certification of the election results by the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi.

Meanwhile, he has finally certified the results for the other eight districts.

Tirana, Fier, Durrës and Elbasan are the last remaining regions, due to the recount.

The process, at the request of the opposition, lasted a full three weeks.

With the reopening of the ballot boxes, the Democratic Party lost more votes than it had received on May 11th.

The vote movements in Tirana, for KAS members, were the result of human errors during the first round of recount, while for the Fier district, a worrying phenomenon was observed, that of vote alienation within candidates.

While for Durrës and Elbasan, not all the boxes were opened, but only a part of them.

KAS members also raised suspicions of electoral crimes by the tellers.

From the recount of votes, there were only a few minor changes that did not affect the result.
