Prime Minister Edi Rama has congratulated the former president of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi on his birthday with a touching message.
In a post on social networks, Rama writes that he is used to calling him every year and wishing him well, but today "a lump in his throat prevented him, as if anger from helplessness stopped him".
"On this birthday of Hashim Thaçi, the whole day I have the question stuck in my brain like a nail: Did they, our great friends who gave birth to that court, know that its history would develop like this, so bleakly unfair with people who fought for the freedom of their people and with Kosovo itself?!" is the question that the prime minister adds further.
Complete greeting:
"Today was a gloomy day for me as well. Usually on this day of the year, I have been used for years to wish my brother, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, a happy birthday. And the obstacle to wishing a happy birthday to a loved one, alive and taken hostage under known circumstances, not by dark and unknown forces, but by the High International Community, has been hanging over my head like a void all day. gloomy, exhausting and tiresome. I didn't want to make a digital greeting in the morning with the picture and the words that are said to someone that you can even receive on the phone, I don't know, a lump in my throat prevented me, a kind of anger from helplessness stopped me.
I have no idea if my brother will be able to read these lines today, which are not even congratulations, even though I am wishing him to live as long as the mountains of Albania, but I know for sure that on this birthday of Hashim Thaçi all day I have the question stuck in my brain like a nail: Did they, our great friends who created that court, know that its history would unfold like this, so grimly unjust with people who fought for the freedom of their people and with Kosovo itself?! I'm afraid I'll never know the truth about this. But maybe I have this fear because of the cloudiness inside me that I couldn't wish Hashim a happy birthday by phone, as I've been used to for many years.
Another 100 Commanders", writes Rama.
