The new parliamentary session begins, Spiropali invites the opposition:

Today, the seventh session of the X-th legislature of the Albanian Parliament has started, with the participation of the majority and opposition members, but with the absence of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The new session was opened by the new speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Elisa Spiropali. In her opening speech, there were no shortage of replies from opposition deputies, however Spiropali used her word to make a presentation of the work of the Assembly in this session.

She also called on opposition colleagues to work together to identify and realize important priorities, such as that of eu integration.

Part of Spiropal's words:

I strongly believe that only the blind do not see that Albania has changed incomparably with a decade ago, the citizens have changed their expectations. Not without regret, I think the minds of making politics have changed. As speaker of the Assembly, I judge that I can underline a renewed old invitation and prayer, to be together in identifying some priorities that we need to identify and realize by the end of this legislature.

Let me share some of these with you. Starting with the leadership of the assembly in the EU membership process. There is no room between the left and the right. Starting with the National Council of European Integration, which will have all my support. Commitments of the action plan for the implementation of EC recommendations. Increase control and monitoring of independent institutions. The Assembly will continue to support strategic partnerships with major allies, the EU, the US, NATO. We will continue to work with international organizations.
