Fredi Beleri left the prison premises today after the decision taken by the Court of Fier to release him on bail.

After being released on bail, Fredi Beleri called today's court decision political.

In a statement to the media, Beleri stated that the legal battle related to the elections in Himara will continue in Strasbourg, while he said that he will live between Himara and Athens.

"I will take the case to Strasbourg and if I come out innocent there, I will run again," Beleri said.

The decision of the Court of Fier for his release came 6 weeks before he completed the full sentence.

Fredi Beleri, who already holds the mandate of the MEP, was sentenced by final decision to 2 years in prison for active corruption in the elections of May 14, 2023.
