New Interior Minister meets the Uk Ambassador in Tirana: Cooperation in the
Meeting between Interior Minister Ervin Hoxha and The British Ambassador Alastair King Smith

The new Minister of Interior Ervin Hoxha has hosted today in a meeting the ambassador and diplomats of the British Embassy in Tirana, with whom he spoke about bilateral cooperation in the field of security and other important issues, with a focus on the British assistance to the State Police.

In a post on social media, the Interior Minister says that "I received for a courtesy visit the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Alastair King Smith, who is at the conclusion of his term in Tirana. In the conversation we agreed on the importance of cooperation in the field of security. The Ambassador assured me that the assistance programs for the State Police will continue as scheduled."

Regarding the Uk government's support for the State Police, Hoxha said that "recently, the British government has allocated a £1 million 'grant' fund for the construction of the Regional Directorate of Border Police and Migration in Lapraka".

As for the future cooperation, the Interior Minister said that "together with Ambassador Alastair King Smith, and the diplomats accompanying him, we also discussed other topics related to bilateral cooperation. We look forward to further cooperation and strengthen the strategic partnership between our two countries."
