Former President of Albania, Ilir Meta , has issued a strong response following recent accusations made by SPAK and some media outlets suggesting that he may have used an undeclared bank card.
In a post on social media and through a full statement, Meta accused the prosecution of spreading inaccurate and deliberate information, which only aims to damage his image and undermine the political opposition in the country.
Meta described SPAK as a "criminal organization", emphasizing that this institution is politically controlled and functions in service of the interests of Edi Rama's government.
He stressed that "SPAK continues to spread disinformation on television and media outlets purchased with the dirty money of incinerators," accusing this body of manipulating news to influence public opinion and create an atmosphere of uncertainty.
Ilir Meta's reaction:
The criminal organization SPAK continues to spread disinformation on television and media outlets purchased with the dirty money of incinerators, unfortunately also on Albanian Public Television (RTSH), as if American authorities have allegedly mentioned my name for an undeclared bank card.
In respect of the truth and the law, but also to prevent further discrediting of the American authorities by SPAK, solely in function of the Narcoregime's agenda to annihilate the true political opposition, I am publishing today the full response of the American authorities regarding the issue and use of bank cards.
SPAK is so exposed in all its criminal activity that has nothing to do with the investigation, but only with the political order of Edi Rama from the tribune of the Socialist Party Assembly, that it is obsessed with keeping me tied to a couple with Monika (SPAK just like Pilo Peristeri who tried to keep couples together by force) by deliberately writing in the official indictment of May 26 my status as married, when this relationship has long ceased to exist in the civil status of the Republic of Albania and they know it very well.
