Journalist Manjola Arizaj Zeka has resigned as Director of Communications of the Albanian Parliament.

In a reaction on social media, she thanked her colleagues and employees of the Albanian Parliament, as well as her journalist colleagues, for their 20 years of cooperation.

Manjola Arizaj Zekaj's reaction:

After a period of 20 years of work in the Albanian Parliament, of which 12 years (three terms hahaha) as Director of Communications, after a personally tiring period, but also deep reflection, I have decided to resign from this position.

I would like to thank all my collaborators over the years in this directorate, for their extraordinary work, the stress they have endured, the fatigue sometimes even beyond their physical capabilities. They have been the best. I am proud that the Albanian Parliament is today one of the most transparent, cooperative and facilitating institutions for the media, journalists and citizens.

I would like to thank all the colleagues and employees of the Albanian Parliament who, in all these years, despite various problems, have been able to give their best, turning the Albanian Parliament into one of the most respected institutions.

I would like to thank the Speakers of Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, Ilir Meta, Gramoz Ruçi, Lindita Nikolla and Elisa Spiropali for the cooperation, understanding and kindness shown towards me and the difficult sector that I have led.

I want to thank my friends in the Albanian Parliament, without names (they don't need a nomination hahahha), who have helped me overcome numerous difficulties encountered almost every day over these years.

I would like to thank the members of the Albanian Parliament for their always dignified and respectful behavior.

I want to thank the "silent heroes", the cameramen and photographers. In particular, a thank you to the live broadcast staff of the Albanian Public Television, the cooperation with each of them, inside or outside the bus (haha) has been professional, humane and productive.

I would like to thank the staff of the OSCE and NDI, two very good partners of the Assembly.

I want to thank the Republican Guard, who are patient and professional.

And for dessert, I want to deeply thank my journalist friends-colleagues, with whom the more we argued, the more we needed each other, the editors and editors-in-chief, who I pestered for hours and hours and were so understanding, the media owners who have always been kind and never arrogant despite their politics. Thank you humbly!

I wish everyone the best! If I have hurt anyone with harsh words, I apologize.

PS: "Special thanks" to the responsible staff of the Albanian Parliament for immediately signing the resignation. It was the first time that they did not violate deadlines or norms.
