Edi Rama revealed something else yesterday that has been in everyone's eyes for years now.
For him, oligarchs matter, not citizens.
At the meeting of the SP parliamentary group, instead of asking his deputies how to find a solution so that the residents of Rrjoll, owners of the land where Bashkim Ulaj will build a luxury resort, can also benefit from something, he openly came out in favor of Ulaj and demanded an account from the deputies as to why they are not protecting him.
So, according to him, socialist MPs should go to Rrjoll and publicly support Bashkim Ulaj, against the citizens.
This would be the only precedent in all of Europe for MPs to go and publicly support a businessman against citizens whose property was taken away through forgeries.
Flamur Noka actually did this once, when the residents of Kukës were protesting against the tax on the "National Road", but he did it not so openly, trying to disrupt the protest.
Meanwhile, Rama has demanded that the socialist deputies of Shkodra come out against the citizens, in favor of Bashkim Ulaj.
Because for him, the oligarchs matter more than his own citizens or MPs.
And this is understandable, since they keep his system afloat.
Therefore, for him, they are a priority.
Rama's government will be remembered as one of the few, or the only ones, that is considered left-wing, but has always favored businessmen and oligarchs, at the expense of citizens.
The case of Bashkim Ulaj is not the last, because look at what he is doing with fuel prices.
He is the only prime minister in Europe who sets up boards not to protect citizens and lower prices, but to favor merchants.
