The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , focused on the demands read by Dritan Goxhaj at the protest in Tirana.

Berisha said he totally agrees with Edi Rama's resignation and the prime minister's government for only two terms, but he came out against the election by lottery, arguing that the government should be chosen by Parliament.

Berisha: First, in the demands read, presented by Goxhaj, the immediate resignation of Edi Rama is reiterated, a demand that we support without any reservation.

Secondly, there is the limitation of the prime minister's term to two terms. The DP fully agrees. As of tomorrow, it is ready to vote in parliament and call on citizens to vote for such a measure. Why is this? Because it became clear that Rama does not allow the rotation of power. We do not say this, but international documents say so. Then there is a wisdom: remove the Constitution. Let me say one more thing as prime minister. If you work for a program, 8 years are absolutely enough, not for its 100% implementation, but for the implementation of its most important points and for its implementation to the extent of 80-90%.

So, what is the case with Edi Rama, is that he remains in power without an election. I understand that the protesters want to give such an answer by changing the Constitution.

This party has fought harder than anyone else against those laws. It has pursued every possible procedure against them, whether against the law on protected areas, on concessions and strategic investments. I recall a moment, in our platform, tax-free investment was only accepted in mountainous areas.

A week ago I proposed a non-partisan, transitional government. Not chosen by lot. To be voted on in Parliament. A government outside the Constitution is out of the question. I am not outside the law. I was a former president, a former prime minister. It must be voted on by Parliament, receive a vote of confidence and take the country to elections.

I don't understand their proposal for a government outside the Constitution. I have understood the request as a non-partisan request, composed of prominent experts, well-known intellectuals, based on an agreement, which will receive a full vote of confidence. I know this mechanism.
