Protests, Erion Braçe does not leave the PS: I will continue to fight

Socialist Party MP Erion Braçe has reacted on social media, emphasizing that he remains part of the Socialist Party and has no intention of leaving or becoming independent.

He declares that he has been a socialist since its founding and has been involved in the party for 35 years, adding that he will continue to maintain his political stance within the Socialist Party, without leaving it or seeking political capital from the protests.

Braçe underlines that he will continue to exercise his mandate as an elected MP in Tirana, saying that the citizens who voted for him recognize his work on the ground and his representation in the Assembly.

He also adds that he will continue to criticize and debate within the party, demanding accountability and opposing when he sees it necessary, but always as part of the Socialist Party.

Full reaction

Answer three things;

1. I am a socialist, I do not become independent,

I am partisan, not neutral, I hold positions,

Don't step aside!

2. I am an elected MP in Tirana, I am not from the list, I have been an MP, I am an MP, I will continue to be an MP, I will not give up!

3. I will continue to stand in front of my party, telling the truth, demanding accountability, criticizing, debating, opposing, proposing, approving there, face to face and from every corner of the territory I cover as an MP; therefore, I have no need for protest and I do not want political capital from it!

So;

No one would believe that if I left the SP group, I would be independent, even those who write this to me; I have been in the SP since its founding, I have been active in it for 35 years, I have lived in it and worked with it, fought battles here and there, as a socialist, holding positions without ever being neutral, that is, independent.

Meanwhile, I have been a deputy, I am a deputy and I will continue to be a deputy, not only in UNIT 5, but in all of Tirana. There is no one in my unit today who does not know who has a deputy. There is no one in Tirana today who does not know that I am a deputy of this District. You will not find anyone who says that the deputy has not come to my unit, neighborhood, block, street, alley, square under the palace, who says that the deputy has not answered me, has not represented me in the Assembly for my or the neighborhood's problems and concerns. So I have done the job, I am doing the job, I will do the job, I will not give up and I will respect the 25 thousand people who voted and trusted me with this job.

In the end, I will certainly continue to confront my party about the truths it refuses to see or has outside its agenda for 1001 reasons, including disregard, exclusion or arrogance; I have enough space to do this without any reservations like on Saturday, face to face with the Prime Minister and the government.

So I don't need to be in the protest with 7-8 agendas - some primitive and very dangerous for this country, but I do it face to face and eye to eye, being responsible, taking and demanding responsibility!
