The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, delivered his speech at the funeral ceremony of Anastas Yanullatos, which was held in Tirana.
In his speech, the head of the Greek government considered Janullatos as a bridge of communication between the two countries, while today - he said - Greeks and Albanians mourn him.
Courage and hope - said Mitsotakis - are the compass that guided Anastasios, while emphasizing that "his death creates a void that cannot be filled."
" It is no coincidence that today both Greeks and Albanians, but also people in the world, regardless of religion and nationality, mourn him. The Archbishop was a bridge of friendship between the two peoples and a link of communication between the two states. Therefore, he can rightly be called a diplomat of love, a mission that he fulfilled with prudence and conscience and unwavering determination. Most people here know well what Anastasios achieved from the first hour when he arrived in Albania in the distant year 1991, in a deserted country after the passage of an authoritarian regime, with persecuted Christians ," said the Prime Minister of Greece.
