The Albanian Parliament is expected to resume parliamentary proceedings tomorrow at 5:00 PM.
According to the order signed by Speaker Niko Peleshi, the session will mark the opening of the proceedings of the 3rd session of the 11th Legislature of the Assembly.
Meanwhile, at 11:00 am, before the start of the plenary session, the Conference of Speakers is expected to convene, where the draft work program of the Assembly and the draft calendar of proceedings will be discussed and approved.
The focus is expected to be on two important reforms, the Electoral and Territorial Administrative Reforms. The latter has been controversial due to the socialist proposal that reduces the number of municipalities from 61 to 46. The initiative is expected to be one of the main issues of political discussion in these months.
The return of MPs to the parliament hall is expected to be accompanied by strong political debates, at a time when opposition action and institutional tensions remain the focus of developments in the country.
Likewise, citizens who have been protesting for about three months against the government and the entire political class have warned that they will protest again in front of Parliament, while MPs return to the hall.
Past sessions have been marked by tensions in front of the institution, as protesters have targeted some of the Socialist Party deputies with eggs.
During the protests in front of the Parliament, there were also clashes with the police and mass arrests of protesting citizens.
