The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, reported to the Assembly about the work of the Special Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime during 2022.

During his speech, Duman highlighted the problems of SPAK, where he emphasized the high number of proceedings, as he said that this issue should be resolved immediately.

Altin Dumani:  SPAK's problems - the biggest is the large number of pending proceedings and it remains that this year, from the beginning and in the next 6 months, the prosecutors will deal with the pending cases, we must definitely give them a solution this problem.

We suffered from the lack of infrastructure. 3, 4 or more investigators in an office and unable to exercise the functions of the institutions. By decision of the Council of Ministers, SPAK has taken ownership of a building that is next to the building and fulfills the functions of SPAK. This can be called a solved problem.

The lack of extradition of crime figures from the United Arab Emirates has hampered investigations. We have not even one extradited from the United Arab Emirates.

Unsatisfactory financial status of digital evidence experts. We have a laboratory, we have recruited 3 experts, but their financial treatment leaves much to be desired and we fear that they may leave us.

The Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime, widely known as SPAK, has cost Albanian taxpayers a full 588 million new ALL for the year 2022.

The financial figure equivalent to 5.2 million euros is the total spent on the institution with the greatest public expectation for significant results in the investigation of corrupt politicians and "big fish" of the world of crime.

Referring to the annual work report of SPAK for the past year, most of this figure, fully 73%, went to the salaries of prosecutors, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation and the administration.
