The CEC recommends May 11 for the 2025 elections

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, says that he sees May 11 as the right date to hold the 2025 parliamentary elections.

Ilirjan Celibashi:  Regarding the date of the elections, we as an institution see May 11 as the date that gives the Central Election Commission the opportunity to prepare the voting process and that from outside in accordance with all the forecasts.

During his speech in a statement for the media, Celibashi emphasizes that the CEC has recommended to President Begaj the date of May 11, 2025 for the next elections.

Ilirjan Celibashi:  We urge the President that the 11th date is the most appropriate. Setting the date of the next election is legal and as long as it is legal, we must respond to it. We prefer and recommend that it be the 11th, although this request may be compatible with someone else's request.

Also, the Socialist Party in the meeting with the President, Bajram Begaj, has proposed the date of May 11 for the parliamentary elections.
