Albania and the USA organize the meeting on cyber security at the UN Security Council. The Foreign Minister, Olta Xhacka leads the meeting with the participation of the most vocal international experts.

" For the cyber attack in Albania, we have indisputable evidence that it was orchestrated and sponsored by Iran. The damage was contained, but it was a testament to the brutality of malicious cyber activity. Such acts constitute a threat to international peace and security and must be treated as such.

This year alone, more than forty cyber attacks have affected 19 countries. Russia's actions have caused communication jams not only in Ukraine, but also in other parts of Europe.

Technology and non-stop innovation are impacting our lives and our future. It is up to us to determine the path that technology should take. In a decade, Albania has gradually built a growing digital society.

Currently, more than 1,200 key government services are available online. Digitization requires a free, open, stable and secure cyberspace. Rapid technological progress also carries risks and challenges. Concerned about the alarming increase in cyber attacks targeting states and their vital infrastructures.

All member states are obliged to respect the UN Charter. We must promote a global, open, sustainable and secure cyberspace. We all have a role to play, and it starts with establishing and respecting the rules accepted together", said Xhaçka.
