At the meeting of the Conference of Speakers regarding the opposition's request to establish an investigative commission for the Durrës port development project, the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, Bledi Çuçi , said that such a request by the opposition cannot be approved.

Çuçi said that the opposition has taken the matter to the Constitutional Court and the latter must be awaited to express its opinion. 

"We have never said that we are against investigative committees. When you create investigative committees with the right object, they are approved. The arguments of our parliamentary group were more or less exhaustive. But I want to add that every time I read the request, it seems both delayed and rushed because we are within the limits of the work of this parliament. In the campaign part, the parliament cannot function. It seems delayed to me because you could have created this committee earlier if you wanted to. It seems rushed to me because we are before the decision of the Constitutional Court. Let's wait for the Constitutional Court to say what it has to say on this issue. You have requested the repeal of the entire legal corpus on the issue of the port of Durres in the Constitutional Court. At least today we cannot make a decision to establish such an investigative committee without talking to the court," declared Çuçi.
