The Constitutional Court has released the decision taken this Friday regarding the Government's appeal in the Belinda Balluku case. The decision reveals that judges Sonila Bejtja, Gent Ibrahimi Sandër Beci, Marjana Selimi and Fiona Papajorgji voted in favor, while Ilir Toska, Marsida Xhaferllari and Asim Vokshi voted against.
The 5 members of the Constitutional Court voted in favor and the vote accepted the government's request for a review of the merits of the Balluku case. The Constitutional Court also reinstated Balluku as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy.
According to the Constitution, "the suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" against citizen Belinda Balluku, simultaneously Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, risks bringing consequences that affect state interests during the exercise of the constitutional powers of the executive branch in terms of determining general state policies."
This very argument has also brought the irony of lawyer Ledio Braho, who writes on social media:
"The reasoning of the majority of the judges of the Court of Cassation for accepting the request for the suspension of the suspension - They are right, we were convinced..."
