Even though three days have passed since the opening of registrations for immigrants for the May 11 parliamentary elections, interest appears to remain low.

According to data from the Central Election Commission, as of this Monday, 9,224 requests for registration have been made, of which 1,393 have been approved and the others are under review.

This remains a very small figure if you consider the large number of Albanian diaspora of around 1.6 million, the majority of whom have the right to vote.

It remains to be seen whether there will be an increase in interest, perhaps even more so as the election date approaches, and when the pressure and campaigning of political parties reaches its peak.
