From cell number 5 of the "Jordan Misja" detention center, the president of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, addressed the protesters who gathered this Saturday under the call of the Democratic Party to demand a caretaker government before the Prime Minister's Office with an audio speech.
The leader of the Freedom Party, in his short speech, emphasized corruption as the main reason why the Rama government should be overthrown.
"Heartiest greetings to all of you missionaries who courageously protest against the only drug regime in Europe. Every country has its own mafia, but in Albania the mafia has its own state. This is now also proven by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, Edi Rama's right-hand man for 10 years in power. This historical testimony comes from an eyewitness to some of Edi Rama's most serious affairs. Ahmetaj proved to us how the state has transformed into a criminal organization ," said Meta.
Meta leveled accusations about what he called the failures of Rama's government. He recalled that after 12 years in power, Rama remembered to talk about agriculture, ironically asking who hindered the development of this sector during this period.
Meta accused Rama of failing to fulfill promises, citing the lack of a free healthcare system and the failure of the Shpirag oil project.
In addition, he described Rama as a "thief" who, according to him, has discriminated against pensioners and offered them only the "misery bonus."
Meta raised the question of why pensions in Kosovo, with a smaller budget than Albania, are twice as high, suggesting that the cause is Rama's poor management of state finances.
He ended by accusing Rama of abusing public funds, channeling them into dubious projects such as incinerators that, according to Meta, do not exist.
